To use automatic transfer, your new and existing device must:
- Run Android 12 or later
- Have the current version of Google Play Services
You can transfer your physical SIM or eSIM to an eSIM in a new phone while you transfer your data from another device. Depending on your carrier, this may be automatic during the onboarding process. You can also transfer later from your settings menu.
If your device didn’t automatically detect eSIM transfer, contact your carrier to activate your eSIM. Your existing device or eSIM can still work even if your eSIM transfer isn’t successful. Learn how to set up a new eSIM.
Tip: Depending on your carrier, there may be slight differences in the process.
