Advanced settings

The Advanced settings section allows you to maintain price transparency for customers relative to their member tiers while fine-tuning who sees your loyalty benefits across Google.

Note: These changes take time to go into effect. Changing the member price submission methods could potentially cause price mismatches during the transition. You are recommended to turn on AIU during transition.

Visibility of your loyalty programs

You can define the structural visibility of your loyalty programs by choosing who qualifies as an eligible audience to view your loyalty benefits on Google.

  1. Go to the Marketing section in your Merchant center account.
  2. Select Loyalty programs.
  3. Navigate to the Advanced settings panel.
  4. Select Edit audience.
  5. You can choose your audience for loyalty benefits by selecting one or both of the following options, depending on your strategy.
    1. Existing loyalty program members: Tailors benefit visibility exclusively to the customers in the member lists you share with Google.
    2. Non-members / All customers on Google: Surfaces loyalty program benefits broadly to any customer searching on Google. When shown to non-members, these benefits act as acquisition incentives to encourage shoppers to join the merchant’s loyalty program during checkout.

Member price submission option

You can configure how Google verifies and displays loyalty prices. This configuration applies to accounts targeting a combination of supported and non-supported regions for programs with a free-to-join tier. For benefits restricted to paid, spending threshold, and credit card membership tiers, you must submit data using the loyalty_program [loyalty_program] attribute (Option 1) rather than standard pricing fields.

  1. Go to the Marketing section in your Merchant center account.
  2. Select Loyalty programs.
  3. Navigate to the Advanced settings panel.
  4. Select Edit info source.
  5. You can choose how you would provide the member pricing by selecting either of the options below:

Option 1: Use the loyalty program [loyalty_program] attribute (recommended)

To ensure data accuracy and automated crawler verification, submit member prices using dedicated loyalty fields directly within your product data source. Then, where supported, Google will show distinctive member annotations to shoppers.

Option 2: Use standard pricing or sale attributes

Apply member prices across general pricing fields (such as price [price] or sale price [sale_price] attributes). However, selecting this option blends member-only discounts with public pricing. If non-members are presented with a restricted discount without clear context, it can lead to high checkout abandonment or price mismatches. Learn more about Price [price] requirement.

Diagnostics

You can check the "Needs Attention" tab to view any issues related to the loyalty program [loyalty_program] attribute.

  1. Go to Products in Merchant Center, then select the Needs attention tab.
