How to fix: Automatic item updates active loyalty program price [loyalty_program_price]

Update both or either your product's price or member price in your product data to match prices on your landing page

For one or more of your products, you submitted a value for the loyalty program price [loyalty_program_price] or member price attribute in your product data that differs from the member price listed on your website. Google updated the member price of these products because you enabled automatic item updates for incorrect prices.

Note that the member price of these products may currently match the member price on the landing page, because these products might have been updated. However, when we compared your product data to your website, we found a mismatch between your product data and your website. The product Needs Attention tab displays a Sampled at time, which shows exactly when we compared the data.

Although we updated some of these products with the price information from your website, we continue to treat products with mismatches as critical errors that can lead to account suspension.

Common reasons for member price mismatch

  • The member price value showcased on your website doesn’t match what is provided in the Merchant Center.
  • Member prices are only shown to those who are logged in.
  • There’s no member price on the landing page. For example, if the member promotion or sale has ended, the member prices are still submitted through feeds or API.
  • You're only offering one-time discounts, such as 10% off on your first purchase, and these can be set up as promotions, not loyalty member prices.
  • Time differences between updates on your website and Merchant Center product data.

How to improve consistency between updates on your website and Merchant Center product data

  • Schedule feed uploads or updates using the Merchant API immediately after the products have been updated on your website. This will help you avoid errors due to the time difference between updates on your website and updates of your Merchant Center product data. Learn more about Manage your data sources.
  • In order to detect and update mismatches, Google crawls the landing pages listed in your Merchant Center product data. You can increase Google's crawl budget in Google Search Console to allow us to cover more products on your website. You can revert a specific automatic update by uploading updated product data using the feed or the Merchant API.
