Use online verification to verify your identity in AdMob

This information only applies to publishers who are eligible for online identity verification. Online verification is currently only available in certain locations. If you don't see this option in your AdMob account, visit Verify your identity to learn about your verification steps.

To continue to show ads and receive payments from Google AdMob, you need to verify your identity. This is to confirm the accuracy of your account information and protect you from fraud.

You have 45 days from the date we first ask you to verify your identity. After 45 days, if you haven't completed the verification process, we'll stop showing ads on your pages.

Online verification process

You can use a faster, online verification process with our partner, Persona. This online process involves verifying your government-issued ID and completing a facial scan and typically takes around 10 minutes.

By using this process you consent to sharing your information with Persona for identity verification purposes. Google will only store your name for verification purposes. All other data is collected and processed by Persona, and will be automatically deleted in accordance with their privacy policy.

Alternative verification method

If you'd prefer not to use online verification, you can use another method which requires you to provide your ID and receive a physical Personal Identity Number (PIN) sent to you by international standard mail. This path typically takes 2-4 weeks.

What you need to do

You need to provide an image of your current government-issued photo ID and a facial scan to complete a face-match. The process shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes.

Tip: Before you start, make sure the name on your payments profile matches the name on your ID. If they don't match, you can change your payment profile name.

How to verify your identity

  1. Sign in to your AdMob account at https://admob.google.com.
  2. Click Payments in the sidebar.
  3. Click the Verification tab.
  4. In the "Identity Verification" section, click Verify now.
  5. Follow the instructions to submit your documents.
Note: Verifying your information might take a few days.  You can review the status in the "Identity Verification" section.
If you use the same payments profile for both AdMob and Play Console accounts, you might need to go through a separate developer identity verification process. Learn more about verifying your developer identity information.

Submit your documents

Here are some tips on successfully submitting your documents:

  • Use the same full name in all documents.
  • Submit documents that are current and not expired.
  • Capture the entire document, the photo should be readable and in focus.
  • Keep your image free of reflections and glare.
  • Incomplete or obstructed documents or dark or blurry photos won't be accepted.
  • Uploading documents or photos other than your ID may result in account suspension.

Document requirements

Your ID document must be a government-issued ID such as a passport, national/state ID, driving license, or residence permit (not an exhaustive list).

If we can't verify your identity

Sometimes we're unable to verify your identity from the documents you provide, for example, if your documents are blurry or unreadable. If this happens you'll be allowed to try again. However, to prevent abuse, we only allow a limited number of verification attempts.

Note: We can't remove the payment hold on your account until we've verified your identity.

Why your ID wasn't accepted and how to fix the issue

The name on the document doesn't match the name on your profile
Check that the name in your account is written correctly. If there's a mistake, make sure you change the name in your account before you resubmit your ID.
The country of the document doesn’t match the country on your profile
We can only verify IDs that match the country in your payments profile. If you have a valid ID that matches your account name, but was issued in a different country to the country in your payments profile, please use our Identity verification troubleshooter.
The name on your ID doesn't match the name in your AdMob account
Make sure your ID details match your AdMob account.
The document submitted was invalid
Submit a valid document issued by a government institution. We accept passports, driver’s licenses or national identity cards.
The type of document submitted is not supported
Submit one of the following documents that our system will accept: passport, driver’s license or national identity card.
Your business information could not be verified
Check that the business name in your account matches the name in your official registration documents. If there's a mistake, make sure you change the business name in your account before you resubmit your ID.
Your business address could not be verified
Check that the business address in your account matches the address in your official registration documents. If there's a mistake, make sure you change the address in your account before you resubmit your ID.
Part of the document was not visible
Make sure you capture the entire document. Your image should be readable, in focus, and free from reflections and glare.
The document was poorly lit and not readable
Take a new photo of your document. Your image should be readable, in focus, and free from reflections and glare.
There was reflection or glare on the document

The photo of the document was blurry

The photo of the document was too small

The document was expired or not current
Submit a different government-issued document with a valid expiry date. We accept passports, driver’s licenses or national identity cards.
The document could not be verified
Submit a valid government-issued document. Note that uploading documents or photos other than your ID may result in account suspension.
