User role permissions

User role permissions control what users assigned to a user role can see and do in your network. Filter the list of permissions, below, to learn how each permission affects users.

Some permissions control features that might not be available in your network. Also, some permissions are dependent on others. A warning is displayed in Ad Manager when a permission dependency exists. All warnings must be resolved before you can save your changes.

Ad exclusion rules

View	Allows users to view all existing ad exclusions set up in the "Protections" section of Ad Manager.
Create and edit	Allows users to create new or edit existing ad exclusions in the "Protections" section of Ad Manager. These can be used to block ads trafficked in Ad Manager from certain inventory.

Ad units, placements, labels, and key-values

View	Allows users to view ad units and placements in line item targeting, creative-level targeting, and the "Inventory" section of Ad Manager. Includes labels.
Edit	Allows users to edit ad units, placements, and key-values in the "Inventory" section of Ad Manager. This permission is granted implicitly if user can edit line item and forecasts but does not show as selected in the user interface. Line item or creative-level targeting for these objects can be edited even without this permission, as long as the user has permission to edit line items and/or creatives.
Edit values	Allows users to edit the values for keys defined in the "Inventory" section of Ad Manager.

Audience segments

View	Allows users to view the settings for audience segments in Ad Manager. Segments are available for line item targeting, even without this view allowed.
Edit	Allows users to edit the settings for audience segments in Ad Manager.

Audience segments (third-party)

View	Allows users to view the list of all pending third-party audience segment approvals in Ad Manager.
Edit	Allows users to edit the approval status for any third-party audience segment in Ad Manager.

Bidders

To view and edit bidder groups, enable the View and Edit bidders permissions.

View

Lets users view bidders for all demand channels in Ad Manager, such as on the "Bidders" page under "Delivery."

By default, admin, executive, trafficker, salesperson, and sales manager include this permission.

Edit

Lets users edit bidders for all demand channels in Ad Manager, such as on the "Bidders" page under "Delivery."

By default, admin trafficker, salesperson, and sales manager include this permission.

Campaign Manager 360 tags

View	Allows users to view Campaign Manager 360 tags and associated campaign details in either the "Creatives" page of the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager, or the "Tags" section.
Approve	Allows users to edit Campaign Manager 360 tags in either the "Creatives" page of the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager, or the "Tags" section.

Creatives

View	Allows users to view the settings of any creative, either within a line item, or on the "Creatives" page of the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.
Edit	Allows users to edit the settings of any creative, either within a line item, or on the "Creatives" page of the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.
Enable	Allows users to activate or deactivate creatives associated with a line item, but not edit any of the creative's settings.

Creatives for Ad Exchange

View and block

Allows users to access Creative review from the "Creatives" and then

"Ad Exchange creatives" page in the "Delivery" section of Ad Exchange, and to block an Ad Exchange ad when they inspect webpage ad delivery (for web and mobile app).

Creative templates

Edit

Allows users to edit the settings for creative templates on the "Creatives" and then

"Creative templates" page of the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager. Creative templates can still be used to traffic creatives without this permission.

Experiments for Ad Exchange

View	Allows users to view all Ad Exchange experiments in the "Inventory rules" page of the "Inventory" section of Ad Manager.
Edit	Allows users to edit all Ad Exchange experiments in the "Inventory rules" page of the "Inventory" section of Ad Manager.

Forecast adjustments

View	Allows users to view the settings for all forecast adjustments in the "Inventory" section of Ad Manager. Forecast adjustments still apply to every line item forecast, even for users without this view allowed.
Edit	Allows users to edit the settings for any forecast adjustment in the "Inventory" section of Ad Manager. It gives implicit permission to the user to edit or modify key-values, however, the key-value permission doesn't show as selected in the user interface.

Orders and line items

View	Allows users to view orders and line items they've created, or to which they're assigned as salesperson or trafficker, in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager. If their network uses teams, they must be assigned to the team associated with the order before they can access.
Edit approved	Allows users to edit order and line item settings, for orders that have already been approved in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager. It gives implicit permission to the user to edit or modify key-values, however, the key-value permission doesn't show as selected in the user interface.
Edit unapproved	Allows users to edit order and line item settings for new and/or unapproved orders, and submit new orders for approval, in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.
Edit delivery options	Allows users to edit the priority and delivery rate for line items in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.*
Pause and archive	Allows users to pause, un-pause, archive, and unarchive orders and line items in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.*
Overbook standard	Allows users to overbook line items of the standard line item type in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.*
Overbook sponsorship	Allows users to overbook line items of the sponsorship line item type in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.*
Approve	Allows users to approve and reject all orders and line items in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.
Forecast	Allows users to run availability forecasts on orders and line items in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.
Enable	Allows users to activate and deactivate orders and line items in the "Delivery" section of Ad Manager.

Ad Manager reports

View and create

Allows users to view and create reports for Ad Manager delivery in the "Reports" section of Ad Manager, and view those that have been shared with them. This permission also allows access to the Ad Manager Home workspaces.

Opportunities reports

View and create

Allows users to view the "Opportunities" page from the "Optimization" section of Ad Manager, and to subscribe for email updates about new opportunities.

Sales

Sales proposals

View	Allows users to view the sales proposals they've created in the "Proposals" page of the "Sales" section of Ad Manager.
Edit	Allows users to update the sales proposals they've created in the "Proposals" page of the "Sales" section of Ad Manager.

Buyer sales proposals

View	Allows users to view buyer initiated sales proposals in the "Proposals" page of the "Sales" section of Ad Manager.

Audience Extension

Edit

Allows users to edit the "Linked accounts" in the "Global settings" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager to share audience segments with Ad Exchange or Display & Video 360.

Billing setup

Edit

Allows users to set up billing and configure the terms and payment options related to the Ad Manager contract with Google from the "Billing" section of Ad Manager.

Access payments interface

Edit

Lets users view and edit settings and information related to payments from Google under the "Payments" section of Ad Manager. Note: This permission was previously part of the "Access Ad Exchange Interface” permission.

Change history

View

Allows users to view the network-level change history from the "Change history" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager, to see most changes to orders, line items, creatives, custom fields, key-values, Inventory rules, audience segments, users, and roles.

All users, regardless of permissions can still see the change history of an item in its context.

Companies & contacts

View	Allows users to view all companies and contacts from the "Companies" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.
Edit companies	Allows users to create new or edit existing companies from the "Companies" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.
Edit contacts	Allows users to create new or edit existing contacts from the "Contacts" "Access & authorization" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.
Invite	Allows users to invite new advertiser contacts to view their orders from the "Contacts" "Access & authorization" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.

Currency

View	Allows users to view currency settings in the "Global settings" "Network settings" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.
Edit	Allows users to edit currency settings and add new currencies in the "Global settings" "Network settings" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.

Custom fields

Create and edit

Allows users to create and edit custom fields on the "Global settings" and then

"Custom fields" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.

Data transfer

Modify data transfer fields	Lets users edit data transfer settings on the "Reports" "Data transfer" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.

Google Data Studio

View and share data

Allows users to share Ad Manager data with Google Data Studio from the "Global settings" and then

"Network settings" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager to view visualization reports in Data Studio.

Labels

Create and edit

Allows users to create and manage labels from the "Inventory" and then

"Labels" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.

Line item templates

View	Allows users to view line item template settings on the "Line item templates" "Delivery" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.
Create and edit	Allows users to create and edit template settings for line items on the "Line item templates" "Delivery" page in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.

Personalized ads

Enable

Allows users to enable Personalized ads from the "Network settings" page of the "Global settings" section in the "Admin" section of Ad Manager.

Video

Ad rules

View	Allows users to view existing video ad rules on the "Ad rules" page in the "Video" section of Ad Manager.
Edit	Allows users to create new and edit existing ad rules from the "Ad rules" page in the "Video" section of Ad Manager.

Content

View

Allows users to view all of the video content imported to their network on the "Content" page in the "Video" section of Ad Manager.

Content sources

View	Allows users to view existing video content sources and their configurations on the "Content sources" page in the "Video" section of Ad Manager.
Create and edit	Allows users to create new and edit existing video content sources from the "Content sources" page in the "Video" section of Ad Manager. This permission also allows users to manage video content metadata and content bundles.

Manage legal

Sign and accept contracts

View

Required to view and sign Ad Manager order forms and contracts.
We only check this for contracts when completing billing signup, that is, moving from free to paid.

Note: We don't check this for signing contract addendums, for example, click-to-accept features.
