Fix policy issues that affect ad serving

Use the Policy center to help you resolve issues quickly and efficiently to minimize the impact to your ad serving. You can request a review of your site or app once you have fixed the issue, or if you believe your site or app has been incorrectly labelled with an issue.

Note: Alternatively, you can remove all the ad code from your site. If you remove all ad code, you don’t need to request a review because you’re choosing not to display ads. You can get your site reviewed in the future if you reinstate the ad code and address any policy violations. Within 7-10 days of removing the ad code, the policy issue will no longer be displayed in the Policy center, but will remain in our system.

Determine the cause of the issue

To begin addressing the issues on your site or app, click Fix in the "Action" column. This will take you to the Issue details page, which provides a description of the issue we found on your site or app. This includes cases when the ad requests are coming from your pages that you've embedded into the sites with issues. Read the description carefully to determine what to fix on your site or app.

Tip: View examples of your issues

Screenshots highlight examples of policy issues found on your apps and can help you to understand and identify these issues. To view a screenshot, click in the "View issue" column.

Remember, you're required to fix policy issues. We recommend you review regulatory issues and advertiser preferences, too, as you'll likely receive less advertising, which may impact your revenue. Learn more about policy issues, regulatory issues, advertiser preferences, and ad serving statuses.

If you’re still having trouble understanding the cause of the issue, refer to the Ad Manager Help Center policy section or check out the Google Ad Manager Help Community.

Tip: Prioritize your issues

If you have many sites and apps with issues, consider using the Policy center filters to help you prioritize which sites and apps to fix first. For example, you can filter for the sites and/or apps with the highest number of affected ad requests or filter for all the sites and/or apps with disabled ad serving, the most severe enforcement. Request a review

After you've made the required changes for a policy violation and/or the optional changes for a publisher restriction, or believe that an issue has been incorrectly labelled, you may request a review of your site or app.

Note: You must request a review for each site or app with policy enforcement(s) in your Policy center for ad serving to continue on that site or app.

To request a review of your site or app:

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Click Admin and then Policy center.
  3. Click Fix next to the site or app you’d like to be reviewed.
  4. In the "Issues found" section, click Start review process.
  5. Review the information in the dialog box, and select your reason for requesting a review from the drop-down menu. In the text box, describe the changes you made to comply with Program policies or explain the reason you think a violation may not apply. The submitted text will be used for reviewing the policy issue.
  6. Check the checkbox to confirm you’re ready for a review.
  7. Click Request review.
Note: The Start review process button will be inactive if your site has been reviewed and rejected several times recently. Check the date provided to find out when you can request another review for your site.

Review status

Check the "Status" column in the Policy center for updates about your review. If the status is Under review, your site or app is being reviewed and a decision hasn’t been made yet.

If your review is rejected, you’ll be notified via email and in the "Issues found" section. Review the policy violation details again to ensure you make the correct changes on your site or app. Once you’ve re-reviewed the policies and made additional changes, you can request another review.

If your review is successful, the enforcement will be removed from the Policy center and you’ll be notified via email.
