Learn about AI Inbox in Gmail

Important: AI Inbox is currently available to select trusted testers in the US. As we learn from our trusted testers, we plan to make AI Inbox available to more people in the coming months.

To help you manage a busy inbox, AI Inbox helps you identify priority emails.

In the Gmail sidebar, the "AI Inbox" navigation button is selected, which updates the main view to display two primary sections: "Suggested to-dos" and "Topics to catch up on." This interface features interactive summary cards that the user scrolls through to the bottom of the page and back. A text disclaimer at the bottom of the screen provides additional context, stating that the visual is shortened, features are in development, availability varies by language and country, and a subscription may be required.

How AI Inbox works

AI Inbox is a new view in Gmail that helps surface what matters most, all in one place. When you open AI Inbox, there are two main sections:

  • Suggested to-dos: This section shows things that need your attention or action from incoming emails. It identifies high-priority items and explains what you need to do in bold text, like a due date for a utility or credit card bill.
  • Topics to catch up on: This section gives you a quick summary of important updates. It helps you stay updated on things like upcoming travel, restaurant reservations, purchase confirmations, and more.
