A temporary daily spending limit may be applied to your account if Google Ads detects unusual or suspicious activity. This can also occur during routine security checks or payment reviews, especially if your account uses direct debit for payment in a Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) country. This limit is a precautionary measure to protect your account.

What you can expect
When a daily spending limit is applied to your account, you’ll receive in-account and email notifications about the new limit. The spending limit will take precedence over any campaign budgets that you’ve set. This limit is typically temporary and may be automatically adjusted or removed as our review progresses, if account activity remains normal or after successful payments clear. In some cases, it might be in effect for approximately 8 weeks.
After we’ve confirmed that your account is safe or the underlying reason for the limit is resolved (for example, a payment issue is fixed), the spending limit will be removed. You’ll be updated through in-account and email notifications. It might take a few days for campaign performance to normalise after the limit is lifted. Any alert messages regarding the limit might persist temporarily even after removal but can usually be disregarded if you've received confirmation that the limit is lifted.
