Manage & delete medical records data in the Fitbit app

This article explains how to export, reconnect, disconnect, and delete medical records data you’ve synced to the Fitbit app. To set up medical records syncing, follow the steps to sync your medical records with the Fitbit app.

Manage medical records data

You can’t currently edit medical records in the Fitbit app. If your medical information looks incorrect, contact your healthcare provider.

Export medical records data
  1. Open the Fitbit app Fitbit app.
  2. Tap Devices and then Apps and Services and then Medical records and then Export data.
  3. Under “Your Fitbit data,” tap Export your data.
  4. Follow the prompts. You’ll get an email with a link to download your data.
Reconnect a healthcare provider

To keep syncing your medical records, you may occasionally need to sign back in with your healthcare provider. Providers decide how frequently connections expire. For some providers, you may need to reconnect after just one day or one week.

To reconnect a provider:

  1. Open the Fitbit app Fitbit app.
  2. Tap Devices and then Apps and Services and then Medical records.
  3. If there’s an expired connection alert at the top of the screen, tap the alert. Otherwise, tap Manage connections and then tap the provider you want to reconnect.
  4. Follow the prompts to re-establish the connection.
Turn off or on personal health coach access to your medical records data
  1. Open the Fitbit app Fitbit app.
  2. Tap your profile picture and then Your data in Fitbit and then Manage feature privacy controls and then Google AI data processing.
  3. Under “Additional data types,” tap Medical records.
  4. Turn off or on Control information used for personalization.

Disconnect & delete medical records data

You can turn off medical records syncing and delete data you previously synced at any time. When you disconnect a healthcare provider, medical record syncing with that provider is turned off. New data from that provider stops flowing to the Fitbit app. Disconnecting a provider doesn’t automatically delete data from that provider which previously synced to your Fitbit account.

You currently can’t delete specific medical records or conditions in the Fitbit app. You can only disconnect from the healthcare provider that synced the record, then delete all data.
