You can edit images with Google Pics directly within Google Slides presentations, making adjustments and visual enhancements to your images while staying in your presentation workflow.
Edit images from Google Slides
- On your computer, open a presentation in Google Slides.
- On a slide, click the image you want to edit.
- To open the image in Google Pics, click Edit image
- If this action opens instead the side bar, your account might not have access to this feature yet. Learn how to edit images with Gemini in Google Slides
- Edit in Google Pics, which opens within Slides.
- Optional: You can keep working on your slide while the image is generated.
- To minimize Pics screen, click Minimize
- To restore the Pics screen, click Open editor

- To minimize Pics screen, click Minimize
- On the top right, to insert your edited image in the presentation, click Replace image.
Edit images with prompts
Apply general edits with prompts
- On your computer, open an image on Google Pics.
- In the prompt text box, describe the changes you want. For example: "Desaturate the photo slightly and add cooler tones to shadows for a premium look."
- Click submit

Edit specific elements with prompts
- On your computer, open an image in Google Pics.
- Hover over the image and click the element you want to edit (e.g., "Floor").
- In the pop-up, enter your prompt (e.g., "Add a woven rug").
- Click Add, then on the bottom bar click Apply.
- Optional: You can add up to five changes to individual elements within the image.
- To apply all edits, on the bottom bar click Apply edits.
Edit specific sections of the image with prompts
- On your computer, open an image in Google Pics.
- Hover over the image and click and drag your cursor to select an area of the image you want to edit.
- In the pop-up, enter your prompt with the changes you want to make (e.g., "add a woven rug").
- Click Add, then on the bottom bar click Apply.
- Optional: You can add up to five changes to individual elements within the image.
- To apply all edits, on the bottom bar click Apply edits
Edit text within images
Pics automatically detects text in your images, allowing you to modify existing text or change its style.
- On your computer, open an image in Google Pics
- Hover over the image and click the text element.
- In the edit panel, type your updated text (E.g., change "Welcome" to "Bienvenue") or describe style changes (e.g., "make the text bold and italic").
- To apply the updated text click Save and then click on the bottom bar click Apply.
Tip: You can add up to five changes simultaneously, including text and image edits.
