Once the server is running, you can connect to the server as an admin and install a simple app.
- On the Cameyo Admin console, select Servers
.
- Select your server from the list and verify that it has the green icon next to it.
- Select Action > Connect as Admin.
Once you connect, you can see the Windows Server desktop interface, and you are logged into this as a local Admin. At this point, you can install apps.
Install Notepad++
Even if you plan to host more complex apps, it’s still a good idea to install a simple app first, for example, Notepad++. This allows you to make sure the system is working properly, before moving on to your more complex apps.
For example, to install Notepad++:
- On Windows server, click the Cameyo shortcut
in the taskbar.
- To launch Chrome browser on the server, select Your App into HTML5 in 3 Steps > Launch browser.
- In Chrome browser, open the Notepad++ homepage.
- Locate the Windows installer file for Notepad++ and download it to the server.
- Run the installer you would on a Windows workstation.
- Once the installer finishes, you see Notepad++ in the Publish your Apps dialog on the bottom right.
- Check the box next to the app and select Apply.
