Understand available performance metrics

Track your overall visibility, user interactions, engagement metrics, and advertising performance across platforms like Business Profile, Merchant Center, and Google Ads.

Google Business Profile performance metrics
  • Interactions: A summary of all your total interactions, which can include calls, chat clicks, bookings, directions, menu clicks, and website clicks.
  • Calls: The number of times a customer clicked on the call button on your Business Profile. To track this metric, make sure to add your phone number to your profile.
  • Chat clicks: The number of chat clicks made from your Business Profile.
  • Bookings: The number of bookings people completed. To get data for this metric, your bookings must be managed through a booking provider.
  • Directions: How many people asked for directions to your business. This metric counts unique direction requests by accounting for multiple taps, direction cancellations, and spam.
  • Website clicks: The number of times people clicked on the website link on your Business Profile.
  • Menu clicks: The number of times people clicked on the menu content per user, per day. This includes menu photos, menu links, and structured menu data on your Business Profile.
  • Views: How many people viewed your Business Profile on Search and Maps. This number of views might be lower than the number of views you find on your Business Profile and email notifications. This might be due to several reasons:
    • The metric counts the number of unique visitors who viewed your profile.
    • A user can be counted a limited number of times if they visit your Business Profile on multiple devices, such as desktop or mobile, and platforms, such as Maps or Search.
    • A person can only be counted once a day. We don’t count multiple visits on the same day.
    • This metric only counts the views of your Business Profile and not the overall views of your business on Google.
  • Platform & device breakdown: A breakdown of where customers viewed your Business Profile, comparing desktop vs. mobile traffic and Search vs. Maps.
  • Searches: The search terms people used to find your business. Search queries show up whenever your Business Profile appears for a certain search. You can’t directly manage these queries. This metric is updated at the start of each month, and new data may take up to 5 days to become available in this report.
  • Searches breakdown: Top search terms and counts for each.
  • Post views: The number of views that your Business Profile posts received in a given date range.
Google Business Profile reviews metrics
  • Average star rating: Average rating across all Business Profile reviews.
  • Change in average star rating: The upward or downward shift in your average star rating over time.
  • Review highlights: Key positive takeaways based on a sample of 100 reviews.
  • Review lowlights: Key areas of complaint or improvement based on a sample of 100 reviews.
  • Total number of reviews: The grand total of customer reviews submitted.
Google Merchant Center metrics
  • Impressions - Products: How often your products were shown on Google, including both your paid ads and your free organic listings.
  • Clicks - Products: The total number of clicks on your products on Google that led to visits to your product detail pages.
  • CTR - Products: Your click-through rate, calculated by dividing product clicks by product impressions, which shows how often interactions led to visits to your online store.
  • Impressions - Non-product pages: Organic impressions from website links & images.
  • Clicks - Non-product pages: Organic clicks from website links & images.
  • CTR - Non-product pages: Click-through rate for organic website links & images.
  • Performance by product: A report showing which items you sell are the most popular on Google, ranked by their impressions, clicks, or click-through rate. New data may take up to 2 weeks to become available in this report.
  • Performance by non-product pages: A breakdown that tracks traffic and performance metrics for your non-product pages, such as your online store homepage.

Tip: These are the Merchant Center metrics currently available in Business Home. To access additional metrics and insights for your website and online products, visit your Merchant Center account.

Google Ads metrics
  • Impressions: An impression is counted each time your ad is served. Impressions help you understand how often your ad is being seen.
  • Clicks: When someone clicks your ad, like on the blue headline or phone number of a text ad, it is counted as a click.
  • CTR: Clickthrough rate (CTR) measures how often people click your ad after it's shown to them. CTR is calculated by dividing the number of clicks your ad receives by the number of times your ad is shown.
    • For example, If you have 5 clicks and 1000 impressions, then your CTR is 0.5%.
  • Cost: The sum of your spend on ad spend during the selected period.

Tip: These are the Google Ads metrics currently available in Business Home. For additional metrics and insights about your ads, visit your Google Ads account.
