Manage your Business Profile owners & managers

If you own a Business Profile, you can invite users to become owners or managers. Additional owners and managers can help you handle daily operations. They can edit info, respond to reviews, and manage posts.

Tip: To access and manage Business Profiles without the need to share your password, each user needs their own Google Account. Learn how to create a Google Account.

Owners

As the owner, you have full control over the profile. You can add or remove users, manage profile info, and even delete the profile. A Business Profile can have multiple owners but only one primary owner.

Tip: A profile must have at least one other owner or manager to transfer primary owner access to. Learn how to transfer primary ownership of a Business Profile.

Managers

Managers, formerly known as “site managers,” have mostly the same access to the profile as owners. The only exception is they can’t add or remove users or remove the profile.

Tip: You can’t add Google Groups as managers or owners of profiles.

  • If you can’t select the user, it might mean you only have manager-level access.

  1. Go to your Business Profile.
  2. Select More and then Business Profile settings and then People and access.

Understand limits for new profile owners & managers

When you become a profile owner or manager, you have to wait 7 days before you can manage some profile features. During that time, you’ll get an error if you try to:

  • Delete or undelete a profile
  • Remove other owners or managers
  • Transfer primary ownership

If you delete your account within the first 7 days, you’ll be removed from the profile. If you change your mind, you need to be added back again.

Tip: If an existing owner tries to make someone else the primary owner in their first 7 days, they’ll get an error.
