Customers can use Google Search, Maps, or Assistant to contact your business for various requests. Google Assistant calls your business on the customer’s behalf. Businesses and customers can use this feature at no charge.
Customer actions available through Google Assistant
Important: The calls are monitored and recorded for quality assurance.
- Book appointments: Customers can ask Google Assistant to book appointments with specific details like preferred time, service type, and party size. After Assistant confirms the details, it attempts to book the appointment.
- If available, Assistant can book through an online booking partner or by calling your business directly with an automated call.
- Check restaurant wait times: Customers can use Google Assistant to check the wait time for a table at a restaurant. To get this info, Google may call the restaurant and then share it with the customer.
Feature availability
Appointment bookings and checking restaurant wait times with Google Assistant are currently only available in the United States, except Louisiana. When Assistant calls for these purposes, the call comes from +1-650-203-0000. Assistant will avoid calling during late night or early morning hours.
Google Assistant will only call you when:
- A customer wants to book an appointment.
- It needs to check the restaurant wait time.
- It needs to check your business hours.
- It needs to check the status of in-demand inventory.
