Understanding alerts, announcements, and notifications

Note: Optional notifications are deprecated. Critical alerts about billing, disapproved ads, and campaign maintenance can’t be turned off and will continue to be shared.

This article explains the differences between alerts, announcements, and notifications within Authorized Buyers.

These message types include:

  • Alerts,
  • Announcements
  • Notifications (Deprecated)  

We send these messages to inform you about your account.

Message differences 

When you sign in to your Authorized Buyers account, by default. Marketplace and then Discovery displays.

Common places you may notice messages include:

  • Google Alerts and Announcements may display on the Discovery page
  • Alerts may appear on the Billing page
  • Notifications (Deprecated)   are received by email

Here are message types and what they mean.

Message type Purpose Location Example

Alerts

  • Important messages to help keep your account active and running.
  • Messages about potential problems.

Red message displayed at the top of the page.

Your billing information needs updating.

Announcements

Product-related messages about Authorized Buyers updates.

These messages aren't critical and don't apply to everyone.

Top of each page.

New feature announcement.

Notifications (Deprecated)  

Optional messages for your accounts performance.

Your account or email.

Performance reports about a certain ad campaign.
