As a Google Workspace admin, you can control which of your users can use the Salesforce for Gemini extension. The Salesforce for Gemini extension lets users do Salesforce tasks in the Gemini side panel in Gmail.
Control access to the extension
Because the extension is a Google Workspace Marketplace app, you control access to it the same way you control other Marketplace apps.
- If you install the extension as an administrator, you can change who it’s installed for or uninstall it completely.
- If you manage an allowlist, you can limit who can install the extension. For details, go to Set whether users can install Marketplace apps and Manage the Marketplace app allowlist for your organization.
What doesn't control access to the extension
You can’t use API controls to restrict user access to the extension. Users can still use the extension even if you change the app access from Trusted to Blocked.
Monitor user activity in Salesforce
In Salesforce, you can monitor user activity, including actions taken on their behalf by Gemini, using Salesforce’s built-in Audit Trail. However, Salesforce can’t tell between activity by the user and activity by Gemini on behalf of the user.
