To get information and find records from Salesforce directly, use the Salesforce for Gemini integration in Gmail.
Learn how the Salesforce for Gemini integration works
- After you install and link the integration to your Salesforce account, Gemini in Gmail might detect when you receive a message from a potential customer.
- When you open the message, below the subject line, you get a “Take action on this sales inquiry” suggested prompt.
- The Salesforce for Gemini integration is only available:
- For eligible Workspace accounts.
- In English.
Set up the Salesforce integration
Important: To use the integration, your Salesforce administrator needs to give your organization access to it. If you can’t install the integration, contact your administrator.
- On your computer, open your browser.
- Install the Salesforce integration and connect to your Salesforce account.
- Open the integration.
Ask Gemini in Gmail for help with Salesforce tasks
- On your computer, open Gmail.
- At the top right, click Ask Gemini
.
- To get help with a task, enter a prompt.
- If you have a relevant message open, enter:
- “View this opportunity in Salesforce”
- “View this lead in Salesforce”
- “View this contact in Salesforce"
- If you’re in the main Gmail inbox view, or have an unrelated message open, enter:
- “View [lead name] in Salesforce”
- “View my [opportunity name] opportunity in Salesforce”
- “Show me the [account name] account in Salesforce”
- If you have a relevant message open, enter:
Tips:
- To use the Salesforce in Gemini integration, in your prompt, include the text “in Salesforce.”
- To manually find any info about the company and draft a reply:
- On your computer, open Gmail.
- At the top right, click Ask Gemini

- To find Salesforce information, use the prompt: “@Salesforce find info on [product or company].”
- Gemini in Gmail provides a response.
- To draft a reply with Gemini, use the prompt: “Draft a reply using this info.”
Salesforce for Gemini FAQs
How do I troubleshoot the Salesforce for Gemini integration?Important:
- The Salesforce for Gemini integration can’t search encrypted fields in Salesforce.
- If your Salesforce configuration has complex validation rules for leads or new contacts, you may get an error message in Gemini in Gmail. In this case, you can click Do in Salesforce and finish entering the data.
If you receive an error when you use the Salesforce for Gemini integration, or the prompt fails to generate a response, you can:
- Try the prompt again.
- Refresh Gmail and then try again.
- Suggested prompts only appear in Gmail on the web. They don’t appear in the Gmail app for Android, iPhone, and iPad.
- If you think a message is a sales lead, but you don't get the Take action on this sales inquiry suggested prompt:
- In Gmail, at the top, click Support
Send feedback to Google.
- To enter your feedback, follow the on-screen instructions.
- In Gmail, at the top, click Support
If you have more than one Salesforce account and want to link a different one:
- In your browser, go to https://myaccount.google.com/security.
- In the “Your connections to third-party app & services” card, click See all connections.
- Click Salesforce
Delete all connections you have with Salesforce.
- In the pop-up, click Confirm.
After you delete the connection with Salesforce:
- In Salesforce, sign in to the Salesforce account that you want to use.
- In the Gemini in Gmail side panel, enter “Help me use the Salesforce integration” to trigger the account linking flow.
- To link your accounts, follow the on-screen instructions.
