We&rsquo;re starting to test a new feature that helps make your live streams & Premieres even more engaging for viewers! Introducing Super Chat goals! 🎉
 
What are Super Chat goals? 🏅
Super Chat goals let you set &ldquo;goals&rdquo; to reach a certain number of Super Chats, of a given value, in a set amount of time. This gives you a new way to engage with your viewers and work towards a common mission! Once you reach your goal, you can celebrate with your viewers in a variety of creative ways.

I want to set a Super Chat goal! What should my goal be?  
You can celebrate your Super Chat goals in a bunch of creative ways. Some examples we saw that worked best in our early testing include:
Adding new challenges to gameplay once a goal is hit, ex: &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll play a level without taking any damage&rdquo; or &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll only use this character in the next round&rdquo; 
Posting new videos or content on the community tab when a goal is hit: &ldquo;I&rsquo;ll add a community post poll and let you decide what I eat for the next week!&rdquo;
Let your viewers help make a decision or choice after hitting a goal &ldquo;Let's celebrate the goal by letting chat decide my next vacation!&rdquo;
The options are endless! Show off your personality by celebrating in your own unique way! You can ask your audience to see how they&rsquo;d like you to celebrate before you set up the goal.
 
Who is eligible for Super Chat goals? ✅
We&rsquo;re currently testing this with a limited group of creators, but any viewer watching a live stream or Premiere in a Super Chat available location from an eligible creator, should be able to participate and contribute towards a Super Chat goal. We&rsquo;re working on expanding this to more creators as soon as we can! Subscribe to this post for an update on when we roll this out more broadly. 
 
How do I set up a Super Chat goal? ⚙️
Super Chat goals are only available for eligible creators in the YouTube Partner Program that have Super Chats enabled in YouTube Studio. More on those settings here. 
If you have these settings enabled and you&rsquo;re part of our early testing group, you&rsquo;ll see a new &ldquo;Goal&rdquo; option at the top of the live chat window on desktop and mobile. 
You&rsquo;ll then see a window pop up where you set up the details of your goal including: 
Number of Super Chats you want as your live stream goal
A quick description of what you&rsquo;ll do if you hit your goal to celebrate with your audience
How long you want the goal to run
The value of Super Chats that will count towards the goal
Note: If you pick the option of  &ldquo;[Color] and higher&rdquo;, like &ldquo;Teal and higher&rdquo;,  all the Super Chats with that color value or colors with higher value will count towards the goal (specific Super Chat value varies by region & currency!). If you select &ldquo;All the colors&rdquo; to let any Super Chat purchase count towards the goal! 
Click &ldquo;Start goal&rdquo; to kick off the timer for the goal & start watching the Super Chats roll in!

What should I do once I&rsquo;ve set up my goal?
Let your viewers know about your goal and how you&rsquo;ll celebrate when you reach it. You can also get viewers excited about your goal before you start your livestream. Check on the progress towards your goal with the &ldquo;Goal&rdquo; button at the top of the live chat. 
 
What happens if I reach my goal?
Everyone will see a fun animation in the livestream. Don&rsquo;t forget to thank your viewers and celebrate together! 
 
What happens if I don&rsquo;t reach my goal? 
Thank everyone who purchased a Super Chat and helped support your goal. You will still keep all the revenue generated from the Super Chats. You can try again by starting a new goal on the same livestream or future ones!
 
Can I set up multiple goals in one livestream? 
Yes! Once you&rsquo;ve reached your current goal, you can set up another one! But you cannot set up more than one goal at the same time, the first one needs to either be completed or canceled first.
 
Follow our Community Guidelines & Monetization Policies
Please make sure you continue to uphold YouTube&rsquo;s Community Guidelines and Monetization Policies when using goals on Super Chat; this includes avoiding celebrating in any inappropriate ways or offering goods with monetary value. Super Chat purchases that go towards your goal are subject to standard Super Chat revenue policies.
