Watch videos on the Miniplayer

With the Miniplayer, you can continue to watch videos, including playlists and livestreams, while you browse YouTube.

Start the Miniplayer

If you’re using the YouTube app, the Miniplayer will automatically pop up at the bottom of the screen if you tap the back button or swipe down while watching a video.

Control videos in the Miniplayer

The video will continue to play in the Miniplayer as you navigate around YouTube. To control the Miniplayer, you can:

• Pause the video using controls on the Miniplayer.
• Fast forward or rewind 10 seconds using controls on the Miniplayer.

If you tap another video’s thumbnail on Home with the Miniplayer up, you’ll go to that video. You can also go back to the video watch page by tapping the video in the Miniplayer.

Move & resize the Miniplayer

If you want to change the placement of your Miniplayer, you can touch, hold, and drag the Miniplayer to move it around your screen. You can also pinch out in the Miniplayer to enlarge it, or pinch in to reduce the Miniplayer’s size. 

Exit the Miniplayer

Exit the Miniplayer by tapping  at the top-right side of the player. You can also go back to the video watch page by tapping the video in the Miniplayer.
