If you let YouTube know that you're having problems playing videos, we may ask for your debug info or 'Stats for nerds'. This info helps us to troubleshoot your issue. Debug info and 'Stats for nerds' don't contain any personally identifiable info, but they do reveal some details about your device and the video that you were watching. Some of the details include and are not limited to:
- Device (manufacturer, model and OS version)
- Video ID (link to the video being played)
- CPN (a mostly unique random identifier for the current playback)
- Bandwidth details
Stats for nerds
- Go to a video watch page.
- Right-click on the player, then select Stats for nerds from the menu.
- Stats for nerds will be displayed over the video while it's playing.
- Take a screenshot or a clear photo of the Stats for nerds to share them.
Debug information
- Go to a video watch page.
- Right-click on the player, then select Copy debug info from the menu.
- To share the debug information, paste it from your computer.
