Watch a video in full screen

To watch while your device is horizontal

1. Tap the video that you want to watch.
2. At the bottom of the video player, tap Full screen or swipe up on the video.
3. Turn your device horizontally.

To watch while your device is vertical

1. Go to the video that you want to watch.
2. Swipe in a downward motion anywhere below the video player.

Exit full screen

To exit full screen while your device is horizontal:

1. Tap the video.
2. At the bottom of the video player, tap Exit full screen or swipe down on the video. If you're on the mobile YouTube site, tap Close .

To exit full screen while your device is vertical, swipe up.

Note: Bear in mind that YouTube videos on other websites, like blogs or news articles, may not have a full screen option.
