Multi-channel networks (MCNs) can manage video monetisation settings for channels in their network. All channels that are part of an MCN must also have their channel reviewed and follow YouTube monetisation policies.
Enable monetisation at the channel level
To turn on monetisation for videos on a specific channel in your network, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your YouTube content owner account.
- In the top right-hand corner, select the account icon > Content Manager.
- In the left-hand menu, select Video Manager > Videos.
- Filter by channel by selecting the drop-down arrow next to Channel filter at the top of the screen and choosing the channel.
- Select the videos that you want to turn on monetisation for.
- At the top of the screen, click Actions > Monetise.
Turning monetisation on for the channel enables it for any new videos that channel uploads.
Enable channels to manage monetisation settings
You can give non-affiliate channels* in your network the ability to manage their videos' monetisation settings using the 'Monetise uploads' feature.
- Sign in to your YouTube content owner account.
- In the top right-hand corner, select the account icon > Creator Studio.
- In the left-hand menu, select Channels > Overview.
- Select the channel.
- Click the Permissions drop-down menu.
- Under 'Monetise uploads', select Enable.
*MCNs cannot disable an affiliate creator's permission to enable monetisation on their videos, as affiliate channels are authorised to monetise eligible videos under the YouTube Partner Programme terms.
After the MCN enables the 'Monetise uploads' feature for a channel in their network, the creator can monetise their content on their own using the instructions to set up monetisation.
