On January 1, 2026, Bulgaria will change its currency to the euro. If you have a recurring membership or AdSense for YouTube account, check out the info below to understand how you may be impacted and prevent interruption to your experience on YouTube.
Active recurring paid memberships
If you have an active recurring membership - such as YouTube Premium or a Channel Membership - your payment method will automatically be billed in the euro, byJanuary 1, 2026.
The price of your membership will not change, but there may be a difference due to conversion rates. Refunds requested after December 17, 2025 may be refunded in the euro, regardless of the date of purchase.
Paused memberships
If your recurring membership was paused due to a payment failure, update your payment method by December 17, 2025 to resume service. If you’re unable to do so, your membership will be canceled.
If you took action to pause your recurring membership, resume service by December 17, 2025 to prevent interruptions to your membership. Failure to resume your service will result in cancellation of your membership.

Membership purchases
From December 15, 2025 to Mid January, 2026 you may receive an error if you try to purchase a channel membership or upgrade or downgrade your paid membership. If you’d like to change your membership, please do so before or after the dates listed above.
Impact on Creators
Creators with active AdSense for YouTube accounts should not be affected by this change. Currency conversions will automatically happen on or before January 1, 2025.
