How does the conversational AI tool on YouTube work?
This tool is designed to provide answers to questions about videos that you're watching. Responses are generated by large language models (LLMs). The LLMs draw on info from YouTube and the web. Learn more about LLMs and generative AI.
Generative AI technology is for informational purposes only. Don't rely on AI-generated responses for medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.What data is collected? How is it used?
When you interact with this tool, we will collect data around your use of the tool and the queries and feedback that you submit. This data helps us to provide, improve and develop our products and services. Conversations connected with your Google Account will be deleted automatically after 45 days.
To help with quality and improve our products, such as the generative machine-learning models that power this tool, human reviewers may read, give notes on and process your conversations with this tool. We take steps to protect your privacy as part of this process. These steps include disconnecting your conversations from your Google Account before reviewers see them. We also use automated tools to help recognise and remove personal info, like email addresses and phone numbers.
Conversations that are disconnected from your Google Account and have been reviewed by human reviewers aren't deleted automatically after 45 days. These conversations are kept separately for up to three years.
