Templates are pre-built agents for common use cases. Using a template is a great way to start if you're new to Workspace Studio.
To create an agent from a template:
-
On your computer, go to studio.workspace.google.com.
- On the "Discover" page, check the available templates. You can filter them by goals.
- Click the one you want to use.
- The agent editor opens with all the steps already built for you.
- To configure when your agent starts, click the step under Starter.
- Your template also includes steps, which are the tasks the agent performs.
- To review and customize its settings, click on each step. Often, you need to choose a specific folder or document, or add information from the starter through a variable. Learn how to use variables to pass data in your agent.
- If you find a step with a red dot, it means some required information is missing. To fill in the missing details, click the step.
- For a full list of all available starters and steps, go to Guide to Starters and Steps in Workspace Studio.
- To customize the agent even further, you can add, delete, or reorder the steps.
- To reorder a step:
- On the step, click More
.
- To move it, use the Move up or Move down arrows.
- On the step, click More
- To reorder a step:
- Optional: Before you turn on your agent, to make sure it works properly, click Test run
Start.
- This runs the agent immediately so you can verify the output.
- If everything works fine, you get a "Run Completed" message.
- After you complete your edits, click Turn on.
