Use Waze on Apple CarPlay

Use Waze directly on your in-car display with Apple CarPlay. For this, you need a compatible iOS device and a car that supports CarPlay in one of these regions.

Waze navigation is also available on the instrument cluster display of supported vehicles.

Connect your iOS device

To use your iOS device as an extension of your CarPlay display and view relevant information while you navigate:

Note: Waze on CarPlay is a limited version of the mobile app, so some features might not be available.

View more with CarPlay

In CarPlay mode, one half of the screen shows the map, while the other half shows:

  • Navigation instructions
  • Search
  • Audio controls
  • Categories such as gas, coffee and drive through

Tap app icon to switch to full-screen view at any time.

Why am I only seeing Waze on part of the screen?

You are in CarPlay mode. Tap app icon to switch to full-screen.

How do I add a stop on CarPlay?

  1. Search for a new destination on CarPlay or choose from your saved places
  2. In Navigation options, tap Add a stop
  3. Tap Go now
Note: You can only add one stop per route. To stop at a different location, start a new drive.

I don’t see a keyboard when in CarPlay

If the keyboard doesn’t appear on your CarPlay display, you can use your iOS device to type.

How do I search with my voice on CarPlay?

Tap  to search for an address with your voice.

To search in a different language:

  1. In Settings, tap Voice and sound
  2. Under Voice typing, tap Input language
  3. Select your preferred language from the list

How do I stop navigating?

To exit navigation, tap Stop on the top bar.

How do I report an incident along my route?

  1. Connect your iOS device to your car with a USB cable or wireless connection 
  2. Tap app icon on the CarPlay display
  3. Tap 
  4. Select the relevant report
    • Traffic
    • Police
    • Crash
    • Hazard
    • Bad weather
    • Blocked lane
    • Map issue
  5. Tap Submit
