Linking a PayPal account as a payment method to your Google Wallet app is only supported in Germany.
Important:
- From April 11, 2025, in the US, you can no longer link your PayPal account directly to the Google Wallet app. PayPal accounts that are already linked to your app will continue to work. Learn what happens to your PayPal account.
- From June 16, 2025, if you have a PayPal account linked to your Google Wallet app, you will no longer be able to use it for payments. Linked PayPal accounts will be automatically deleted and no longer supported.
- PayPal branded debit cards are supported on Google Wallet. Learn how to add a payment card with the Google Wallet app.
- To continue to pay online securely and seamlessly with the Google Pay button, make sure you have at least 1 card added to your Google account. Learn how to manage payment methods added to the Google Wallet app.
- If you have non-Google recurring payments or subscriptions set up with your linked PayPal account, update your payment method at those businesses as soon as possible to avoid any issues.

Your transaction history is no longer available in Google Wallet. To find your transaction history, go to your PayPal account directly.
In-store tap and pay payments are authorized almost instantly so you shouldn’t expect them to fail.
For online recurring payments, you need to manually update your payment method on the merchant website to continue using the service or subscriptions.
Tip: Subscriptions made with PayPal in Google Services like Play Store shouldn’t be affected.
You can still request a refund from the merchant for transactions made with PayPal through Google Wallet. Once the refund is processed by the merchant, the funds will return to your PayPal account.
