How to open Google Wallet

Important: Not all features are available in every country or region.

You can quickly find and use any items that you’ve saved to Wallet.

With the Google Wallet app

Open the Google Wallet app .
Find any items that you added to Wallet.
- To find cards that you added as payment methods: Swipe left and right.
- To find and use other cards, passes, and IDs that you added: From the bottom of the screen, swipe up.
- To use any card, pass, or ID you stored: Tap on it.

With a Samsung phone

On supported Samsung phones, you can add a Google Wallet shortcut to your lock screen, side key, or Bixby key.

Add a shortcut to your lock screen

Turn on your phone.
Touch and hold the lock screen.
- To sign in, follow the on-screen instructions.
To replace an existing shortcut, tap the Red minus icon next to the app.
To add a shortcut, tap Plus.
Select the Google Wallet app .
Tap Done.

Tip: To open an app shortcut from the lock screen, swipe the shortcut in any direction.

Add a shortcut from the Side key

Go to Settings.
Tap Advanced features Side key.
Turn on Double press.
Select Open app.
To select an app, tap Settings.
Select the Google Wallet app .

Add a shortcut from the Bixby key

Go to Settings
Tap Advanced features Bixby key.
- If you aren't signed in to your Samsung account, tap Get started.
Select the Single press to open Bixby option.
Turn on Double press.
Select the Google Wallet app .

With the power button

Important:

This method is applicable to Pixel 8 and newer. For Samsung phones, learn how to add a shortcut from the Side key.
This method allows easy access to payment cards.
This method is not available in India.

With a double-press of the power button, you can access the tap to pay screen. You can use this method whether your phone is locked or unlocked, on whichever screen or app you're currently using.

To set this up:

Open your phone’s Settings app.
Tap System Gestures Double press power button.
Turn on Use double press.
Tap Wallet.

Tip: If you have a camera shortcut configured for the power button, you can still use a lock screen shortcut button for the camera. To change this, go to Display & Touch Lock Screen Shortcuts.

From Quick Settings

Important: This method only works on devices with Android 12 and up. Some Android phones may not have this feature as part of the Quick Settings menu.

Unlock your phone.
To find the Quick Settings menu, from the top of your screen, swipe down.
- To expand it fully, swipe down again.
Tap the tile for Wallet. If you added a card or pass, it appears here.
You can find and use debit and credit cards that you added. To find everything that you added to Google Wallet, at the bottom of the screen, tap Show all.
- To find cards that you added as payment methods: Swipe left and right.
- To find and use other cards, passes, and IDs that you added: From the bottom of the screen, swipe up.
- To use any card, pass, or ID you stored: Tap on it.

From the lock screen

Important: This method only works on devices with Android 12 and up. Some Android phones may not have this feature. To access Google Wallet from the lock screen, you must first add a payment method.

At the bottom right of your phone’s lock screen, tap Wallet .
Unlock your phone.
You can find and use debit and credit cards or passes that you’ve added. To find everything that you added to Google Wallet, at the bottom of the screen, tap Show all.
- To find cards that you added as payment methods: Swipe left and right.
- To find and use other cards, passes, and IDs that you added: From the bottom of the screen, swipe up.
- To use any card, pass, or ID you stored: Tap on it.

Turn quick Wallet access on or off

Open your phone’s Settings app.
Tap Display Lock screen.
Turn Show wallet on or off.
