Learn about Google Voice blocked calls

Important: This feature is always on by default and can’t be turned off.

Some mobile carriers may block calls made through Google Voice. When this happens, your call log may display a message that provides details and resources to help you understand the block. If you encounter this notification, contact the mobile carrier based on the contact information provided. Google Voice isn't responsible for the blocked call and is unable to fix it.

Find blocked calls

When a carrier blocks your call, to find more information about how to contact the carrier and address the issue, search the affected call in your Google Voice call log.

  1. On your computer, open Google Voice.
  2. On the left, click Calls .
  3. Find the blocked call entry.
    • A blocked call shows a message like "Call blocked by carrier."
  4. To get help, in the message, click the link, contact number, or email address.
