Set up enhanced conversions
- Enhanced conversions is a feature that can improve the accuracy of your conversion measurement and unlock more powerful bidding. It supplements your existing conversion tags by sending hashed first party conversion data from your website to Google in a privacy safe way.
- You’ll need to turn on enhanced conversions in your Google Ads account. If you previously used Google Tag Manager or manual tagging, ensure your enhanced conversions method is set to "Google tag" in your Google Ads account after setting up the app. You can turn on enhanced conversions when you first connect your Google Ads account to your Google & YouTube app or from the settings page in your Shopify account.
Turn on enhanced conversions in your connected account
If you’ve already connected your Google Ads account to your Google & YouTube app and still need to turn on enhanced conversions, follow the steps below.
- On the Settings page in your Google & YouTube app, find your Google Ads settings.
- Find “Enhanced conversions” and select Turn on.
- Review and agree to the customer data terms.
Migrate Audiences
- Connect Google Ads to Google Analytics and turn on Personalized Advertising so your audiences are available in your shared library in Google Ads.
- Add the Google Analytics 4 audiences to your campaign or ad group.
Shopify event parameters
After a Google tag for Google Analytics or Merchant Center is added to your Shopify site through the Google & YouTube app, your tags will begin measuring Shopify-specific ecommerce events and parameters.
