When you trade in a device with your order, you will either get your trade-in value right away as a discount or you will receive a credit to your payment method after you send in your old device. After you send in your trade-in device, we’ll inspect it and decide on a final trade-in value.

If you already received your trade-in value as a discount
- If the final value of your trade-in device is the same as the estimated value:
- You’ll keep all of your original discount.
- If the final value of your trade-in device is less than the estimated value:
- If you checked Accept the new value if it changes after inspection during the purchase process, you will receive a charge to your payment method for the difference.
- If you did not check Accept the new value if it changes after inspection during the purchase process, we’ll send your device back to you and you will receive a charge to your payment method for the estimated trade-in value.
- If you return the purchased device:
- You’ll receive the final value of the trade-in as Store Credit.
If you haven’t received your trade-in value as a discount
Important: It may take up to 14 business days for any credits to show up on your credit card.
- If the final value of your trade-in device is the same as the estimated value:
- You'll get a credit to the form of payment used to buy your new device.
- If the value of your trade-in credit is more than the cost of your new Pixel device excluding taxes, you'll get the excess amount as a Google Store credit.
- If the final value of your trade-in device is less than the estimated trade-in value:
- If you checked Accept the new value if it changes after inspection during the purchase process, you’ll get a credit for the new value. The credit will be applied to your payment method.
- If you did not check Accept the new value if it changes after inspection during the purchase process, we’ll send your device back to you and you won’t get a credit.
- If you return the purchased device:
- You’ll receive the final value of the trade-in as Store Credit.
