Stadia Controller features and specifications

You can connect your Stadia Controller to a compatible device with a USB cable or a wireless Bluetooth® Low Energy connection.

Buttons and controls

To do this...	Do this
Turn on the Stadia Controller	Press and hold the Stadia button until the controller vibrates. To make your controller ready to pair with a Bluetooth device, press and hold the Stadia button and the button.
Turn off the controller	Press and hold the Stadia button for 4 seconds. If the controller is plugged into a device with a USB cable, disconnecting it will turn off the controller.
Turn off the controller (hard power down)	Press and hold the Stadia button for 8 seconds to turn off the controller (hard power down). This can be useful as a reset procedure if your controller becomes unresponsive.

Face buttons A button B button X button Y button	The face buttons are used for different actions, depending on the game you're playing.
Shoulder buttons Left bumper (L1) Left trigger (L2) Right bumper (R1) Right trigger (R2)	The shoulder buttons are the bumpers and triggers located on the top of the Stadia Controller.
Direction pad Up Down Left Right	This 8-directional D-pad is used to perform directional actions (up, down, left, right, or diagonal).
Direction sticks Left stick (L3) Right stick (R3)	The Stadia Controller has two 360° sticks. They're commonly used to move your character or move the camera view. Either stick can be pressed like a button. These "buttons" are called L3 and R3.
Menu	This button is often used to pause games or access game menus.
Options	This button is often used to pause games or access game menus.
Assistant	This button can no longer be used to talk to the Google Assistant.
Capture	This button can no longer be used to capture screenshots or video clips.

Solid orange		The controller is charging. The status light will turn off when charging is complete.
Blinking orange		The controller is ready to pair to a device over Bluetooth.
Blinking white		The controller is ready to connect wirelessly to a paired device.
Solid white		The controller is turned on and connected to a device.
