About Commerce media Audience fees

”Audience fees” is a Commerce media (also known as "Retail media") feature in Search Ads 360 that allows a retailer to set and manage fees for brands that participate in the retailer’s advertising programs. It also provides reporting on the fees for both retailer (sub-manager account) and brand (Associate manager account) users.

Benefits

The "Audience fees" feature benefits both retailers and brands.

Retailers

As a retailer, you can:

  • Create and charge participating brands a fee to access your first-party audience data that they can use for targeted advertising campaigns.
  • Adjust your fees for existing audiences based on revenue and audience performance on campaigns.
  • View reports on the revenue generated from audience fees and understand how the brands are using these audiences to optimize your pricing and improve revenue.

Brands

As a brand, you can:

  • View and select audiences for your campaigns, with visibility into associated costs, so that you can make informed decisions about targeting.
  • Get notifications of and respond to changes in audience fees so that you can adjust your campaigns accordingly to stay within budget.
  • Analyze your campaign performance and costs so that you can optimize your targeting strategies and maximize ROI.

How it works

Retailers:

You can create audiences in client accounts and allow brand accounts to access them for a fee. You can modify audience fees at any time. However, changes can’t be made retroactively, meaning you can only make changes from the current day. You can also view reporting on revenue from audience fees and the usage of different audiences.

Brands:

You’ll need to pay a fee to view and decide the audiences to use for your campaigns based on the audience fees and audience description. You can view reporting to understand how much was spent on audience fees.
