Contextual keyword targeting in Studio allows you to customize dynamic creatives to target content relevant to your brand based on the publisher’s website, video metadata, or app environment. Learn more about Contextual keyword targeting.
For example, a single creative can swap its messaging based on the specific contextual keywords identified on the site where the ad is served, ensuring that every impression is highly relevant to the surrounding content.
Note: Contextual keyword filtering in Studio is based on the keyword phrases you provide in your feed set-up.
Feed setup
- Follow the general feed instructions to create the feed.
- Create a separate column to use contextual keywords as a dynamic targeting signal. Contextual keywords can be one or more comma separated phrases used to target a publisher's content. Learn more about Contextual keyword targeting.
Profile setup
After uploading the feed to the Studio profile, follow these steps that are specific to contextual keyword filtering strategies:- Go to Step 2: Manage Data. In the "Data types and filters" section, find the field name that matches the name of the contextual keywords column in your feed. In that row, select the field type Contextual keywords.
- Go to Step 3: Manage Rules. Confirm the “Type dropdown” is set to “Auto-Filter”. The summary should display “Filtering on: contextual_keywords_column” or your feed's column name. Select Manage if you need to update the filtering column.
- In Step 4: Generate Code, Studio generates the dynamic code. Refer to these steps to incorporate the dynamic code into the creative asset files and upload the final assets to Studio.
- In Step 5: Preview, preview the creative by entering the contextual keywords into the parameter field and selecting Apply.
- Go to Step 7: Publish and select Publish.
Note: Studio can take up to a day to process contextual keyword phrases.
