Understand lane-level features
The Google Maps camera extension uses a combination of camera, location, and Android sensor data in order to determine the vehicle’s position relative to lane lines.
The Google Maps camera extension converts this data into semantic data, for example lane line pattern, color, and distance from the vehicle. This semantic data is used by Google Maps to provide lane-level routing and guidance information to the user. The data about lane lines is also used to keep Google Maps fresh and accurate to improve the user’s driving experience. Camera frames are not sent to Google.
