Get personal suggestions on your Pixel with Magic Cue

As you use your phone, Magic Cue suggests info you can use or actions you can take when you chat, call, or search.

Important:

  • This feature is available on Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold in these countries and languages:
    • Australia (English only)
    • Canada (English only)
    • India (English only)
    • Ireland (English only)
    • Japan (Japanese only)
    • Malaysia (English only)
    • Singapore (English only)
    • United Kingdom (English only)
    • United States (English only)
  • To access AI features, you must be at least 18 years old and be signed into a personal Google Account on your phone.

Where to expect Magic Cue suggestions

Magic Cue shows suggestions across your Pixel phone. For example:

  • Chat apps: Google Messages and select third-party messaging apps
  • Phone app: When you call someone you have an email or contact associated with
  • Weather app: When you have upcoming trips or events
  • Daily Hub: When you have emails, text messages, and Keep notes that you might want to be reminded about
  • Other apps: Google Maps, shopping apps, and streaming apps

When to expect Magic Cue suggestions

You can use Magic Cue 24 hours after you first set it up on your phone. As your device charges, Magic Cue processes new data. It may take time to start showing relevant suggestions to new info.

You’ll start finding Magic Cue suggestions in select scenarios depending on what info is available and useful for you at the moment.

Magic Cue will provide more info and action suggestions as you use your phone over time.

Turn Magic Cue on & off

  1. On your Pixel phone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Magic Cue.
  3. Choose the suggestion types and data sources you want to turn on or off.

Control which app data Magic Cue uses

You can choose which apps Magic Cue uses to provide suggestions.

  1. On your Pixel phone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Magic Cue and then Base suggestions on apps.
    1. Choose which apps to use.
    2. If you want Magic Cue to use your recent on-screen activity to give you relevant suggestions, turn Use data from recent screen activity on or off.
    3. If Magic Cue can use certain data, like your email and phone number linked to your Google Account, turn Use foundational data on or off.
Get information suggestions

Important: Make sure you double-check suggestions before you share any info.

When you turn on Find info instantly, Magic Cue suggests info relevant to your current context, such as questions you get in a chat, the name of the business you call, or the app you’re searching in.

For example, Magic Cue can:

  • Show your flight time when you’re asked about it over text.
  • Display an order number when you call a business about a return.
  • Show a recently viewed product when you use a shopping app.

To learn more about where the suggestions come from, give feedback, or adjust settings, press and hold the suggestion.

Get action suggestions

Action suggestions are available in messaging apps and select other apps.

When you turn on Finish tasks faster, Magic Cue suggests the actions you might want to take in your current situation.

For example, Magic Cue can:

  • Open a location in Maps if someone mentions it in a text.
  • Share relevant photos in Messages.
  • Open your calendar when someone asks about your availability.

You can also get some of these actions when you select relevant text in Gmail, Keep, or Chrome.

To learn more about where the suggestions come from, give feedback, or adjust settings, press and hold the suggestion.

Fix issues with Magic Cue

If you aren’t seeing Magic Cue suggestions, you can try possible solutions.

Your data may not be processed yet or Magic Cue may not have enough info to give suggestions. Charge your device and wait at least 24 hours. You’ll get more suggestions over time as you continue to use your phone as normal.

Find Magic Cue settings

  1. On your Pixel phone, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. At the top right corner, tap the 3-dot icon.
  4. Tap Show system apps.
  5. Search for “Device Intelligence.”
  6. To update the latest version, tap App detail.
Download the model over Wi-Fi

Magic Cue needs to download models to work. It only supports model download over Wi-Fi connection. If your phone isn’t connected to Wi-Fi, you’ll find a “Wi-Fi connection needed” message. To continue the download, connect to Wi-Fi.

Update required apps

Before you can use Magic Cue, you may need to update some apps.

  1. Open your Google Play Store app.
  2. At the top right, tap on your avatar.
  3. Tap Manage apps & device and then Updates available.
  4. Update any pending apps.
Restore Magic Cue settings

Magic Cue settings aren't included in your device backup. If you restore your device, you need to re-enable your Magic Cue settings and reprocess all your data.

Use different accounts

If you have multiple accounts on your device, Magic Cue will always use the primary account as the data source for its suggestions.

If you switch to a different account, you need to opt in to Magic Cue features again. When you do this, all data processed under your previous account is deleted from the device.

Use Google Workspace data for suggestions

In order for Magic Cue to access your Workspace data (for example Gmail, Calendar, or Keep), you need to have the "smart features” turned on in your Workspace settings. To find out whether you already have this setting enabled, learn how to manage Google Workspace smart features.

Learn about privacy when you use Magic Cue

Your Magic Cue app data and recent screen activity are protected in a secure, isolated environment. Unless you choose to share it, this data remains private.

By using Magic Cue, you agree to Google's Terms of Service, AI Prohibited Use Policy, and Privacy Policy.

Learn about security

Always review suggested actions before you proceed. This is especially important when recommendations involve:

  • Updated contact info
  • Changes to an invoice or payment reminders
  • Calendar invitations
  • Changes to existing appointments
  • Any other sensitive information

If you find a suspicious recommendation, ignore or reject the action and manually review the suggested change before you apply it.
