If your screen flickers, shows a green tint, or horizontal or vertical lines, won’t turn on, or is cracked, you may have a hardware issue. Try these troubleshooting steps, or get your phone repaired.
Screen flickers, has a green tint, or lines appear
Check for a system update:
- Open your phone’s Settings app.
- Select System
System update.
- Install any updates.
- If not resolved, contact us or get your phone repaired.
Screen doesn’t turn on
- Try to troubleshoot using your phone's buttons. With your phone plugged in, press and hold both the volume up button and the power button at the same time for at least 20 seconds.
- If you see a red light, your battery is fully discharged.
- Charge your phone for at least 30 minutes.
- Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
Tip: Restart your phone a few times after troubleshooting.
- If you see an Android robot and the word "Start" with an arrow around it:
- Press the volume-down button until you see the option to "Power off." Press the power button to pick "Power off."
- Charge your phone for at least 30 minutes.
- Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
- On your screen, tap on Restart
, or press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds, until your phone restarts.
- If you see a red light, your battery is fully discharged.
- If not resolved, contact us or get your phone repaired.
Screen is cracked or has dead pixels
If your Pixel phone’s screen has dead pixels or physical damage like cracks, you can get your phone repaired.
