You can get a weather forecast with Pixel Weather which includes a customizable detail page, notifications, and summary.
You can also get other information like:
- 10-day forecast
- Air quality index (AQI)
- Humidity
- Weather map
- Pollen count
Tip: To get more accurate weather info, turn on location permission for Pixel Weather. Learn how to manage location permissions for apps.
Change your weather settingsTo change your Temperature settings:
- On your device, open the Weather app.
- At the top right, tap the Profile icon.
- Tap Pixel Weather Settings
Temperature.
- Select one of the following:
- Use default
- Celsius
- Fahrenheit
Temperature.To customize additional settings:
- On your device, open the Weather app.
- At the top right, tap the Profile icon.
- Tap Pixel Weather Settings
Tip: You can change “Weather Units” for Precipitation, Wind speed, Barometric pressure, and Visibility.
To manage your Pixel Weather notifications:
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Tap Apps
- To receive notifications such as precipitation, turn on all Pixel Weather notifications.
Important:
- This feature is normally on but the system will automatically disable any haptics in potentially dangerous weather conditions.
- Animations and vibrations are supported on Pixel 8 and later.
You can add vibration to the Pixel Weather background animations.
- Open the Weather app.
- At the top right, tap User
- To turn vibrations on or off, tap Use immersive weather vibrations.
Tip: When your phone is in Battery Saver mode, animations and vibrations won’t be available.
You can check the weather in your current location or saved locations.
To add a location:
- On the Pixel Weather home screen, tap Search
.
- Search the location by its name, area, or zip code.
- To add that location to your Saved locations, tap Add
.
To delete a saved location, in the locations list view, swipe the location name to the left.
Important:
- The summary of the weather forecast is AI-generated and only available on these devices:
- Pixel 9 and later in:
- English
- German
- Japanese
- Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel 9a in:

You can find a summary of the weather forecast for your location through the AI Weather Report.
When there are weather alerts for extreme or dangerous events, the AI Weather Report won’t show and the alert will be at the top of the page.
To disable the feature:
- In Pixel Weather, go to Saved locations.
- At the top left, tap on User
- In the dialog box, tap Turn off.
To adjust the weather blocks:
- Touch and hold the block you want to move.
- Drag it to your preferred placement on the app.
You can select a map to see a 6-hour precipitation forecast.
Important: Weather map is only available in the US, UK and most EU countries excluding Italy and Luxembourg.
- You can move around the map and scroll the timeline at the bottom to see changes over time.
- The Weather map is powered by the same model that supports Google nowcasting. Learn more about Google nowcast.
Based on Magic Cue information for your upcoming plans and events, you may receive personalized weather insights.

To get personal weather insights in Pixel Weather, turn on Magic Cue in device settings.
- On your device, open the Pixel Weather app.
- From the current location page, tap the back button to visit all saved locations.
- Tap the suggested location.
- You may find suggested locations based on your known personal events in the location overview.
- To add the suggested location to saved locations, tap Save.
- Under “AI Weather Report,” you may find a new personal weather insight.
- To get more detail and tips to prepare for forecasted weather conditions during your event, tap on the insight.
Tip: To ensure forecasts are available, suggested locations and personal weather insights show when the event is within 10 days. Travel plans or events more than 10 days in the future will not show yet.
