Clear Calling improves your voice quality. It filters background noise so people can hear you clearly on every call. For better call quality, hold your phone so the bottom microphone stays near your mouth.
Important:
- Clear Calling for the Pixel Phone app is available on Pixel 7 and later.
- Clear Calling is supported on VOIP apps for Pixel 10 and later, except Pixel 10a.
Turn Clear Calling on or off
Important: This feature depends on your call bandwidth and may not be available for all calls.
- Open your phone’s Settings app.
- Tap Sound & vibration
Clear Calling.
- Turn Use Clear Calling on or off.
Clear Calling.Tips:
- You can turn on Clear Calling while you’re in a call.
- Press a Volume button.
- In the volume control panel that opens, tap Clear Calling.
- To muffle background music, such as hold music, turn on Clear Calling.
Clear Calling & data privacy
All sound data is processed on your Pixel phone. This feature doesn’t send your audio and phone conversations to Google. Learn more about Google’s privacy policy.

Important: Your Pixel phone app supports Clear Calling. Some third-party apps for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro also support Clear Calling for Wi-Fi calls.
