Change your Google Pay phone number

Make sure that the phone number you use for Google Pay is the same one listed on your bank account.

To change your phone number on Google Pay:

1. Open the Google Pay app .
2. At the top right, tap your photo, and then Settings.
3. Tap Personal info and then Edit phone number.
4. Enter the new phone number and tap Next.
5. You'll receive a one-time password (OTP) through SMS. If your phone doesn’t automatically verify the number, enter the OTP.

Will my phone number be visible to everyone I interact with on Google Pay?

To protect your privacy, Google Pay will only share your phone number with individuals who you have transacted with on Google Pay if your number is saved in their contact list. For transactions that involve unknown phone numbers, a masked number or Unified Payment Interface (UPI) ID will be used to safeguard your information.
