About this column

This column typically carries the "Custom ID" or "Vendor ID". Partners who provide EIDR IDs in their avails ("EpisodeID" column), are able to make free use of the EpisodeAltID column. If EIDR IDs are not provided, it's important that EpisodeAltIDs are unique to the episode. This helps ensure that a clear association exists between the unique ID and the intended assets.

EpisodeAltIDs can consist of letters, numbers, or a combination of both. They must be in string format and cannot contain any spaces or special characters (e.g. &*"<>:;#@, etc.)

Example: "FIRSTDANCE_10112" is formatted properly.

Additional Google requirements

It's important to confirm EpisodeAltIDs are accurate and unique before sending an avail. EpisodeAltIDs should never change for a version. Once Google receives an EpisodeAltID, it will be used as the unique EpisodeAltID going forward.

Best practices

Include an EpisodeAltID every time an episode is on an avail.

Common mistakes

  • Using a space in the ID (e.g. "FIRSTDANCE 10112").
  • If the EpisodeAltIDs start with "0", ensure that none of the info within the excel document are corrupted before providing the avail.
