You can troubleshoot issues with your RCS chats with business like starting a business chat or finding other ways to contact a business.

Important: To control which businesses send you RCS messages, you can unsubscribe or resubscribe to RCS chats with businesses. Learn about your RCS chats with businesses.

Can't reply to or start a business chat

If you can't start a chat, an issue may have occurred with a link, QR code, or button. Once you start a chat, you may not be able to reply.

If a business chat is unavailable, make sure:

  • You have RCS chats turned on in Google Messages. Learn how to turn on RCS chats.
  • RCS chats with businesses are supported by your carrier.
  • The business is available in your country or region.
Can't find RCS chats with businesses on Google Messages for web
Currently, RCS chats with businesses are only available in the Google Messages app.
Can't find businesses you started an RCS chat with in your contacts
Businesses aren't automatically added to your contact list after you start a chat with them. You can manually add a business as a new contact.
Other ways to contact the business

If troubleshooting doesn't resolve the issue, you can find the business's contact info through the RCS chat.

  1. Open Google Messages Bubble Badge for RCS.
  2. Go to the RCS chat with the business you want to contact.
  3. At the top of the chat, tap the business's name and logo.
    • Alternatively, tap Menu More and then Info & options.
  4. To contact the business directly, use the provided phone number, email, or website.
