How your data is used
Google doesn’t store messages or use them to train machine learning models. If you use Magic Compose:
- All your data stays privately on-device.
- Messages with attachments, voice messages, and images aren’t used for suggestions generation, but image captions and voice transcriptions can be used.
Conversation privacy
The message suggestions feature is powered by an on-device model called Gemini Nano for devices with AICore:
- The data is processed on your phone without leaving the device and no messages are sent to Google.
- To generate a message suggestion, the model uses the 20 previous messages for context.
- To get a rewrite suggestion in different styles, the model uses one draft message.
