How to complete your verification check
We'll route you to a specific verification method based on the information that we need.
You may be asked to complete one or more of the following checks:
- Selfie verification: A quick liveness check using your device's camera to confirm that you're a real person.
- Document verification: An upload of a valid, unexpired government-issued document, such as a passport, driving licence or organisational tax document.
Reuse or create your details
You may be asked to connect a Google payments profile while completing the process. A payments profile is a secure registry that stores the official legal identity details of an individual or an organisation such as a registered name, physical address and tax information.
- If you have already set up a profile with other Google services such as Google Ads, YouTube or Play Store, you can select it from a list during setup to autofill your details.
- If you don't have a Google payments profile or you can't find it in the list, you'll be prompted to build a new one on screen.
Tips to prevent failed verification
1. To maintain strict security, the person that starts a verification process must be the one to finish it.
Even if there are multiple admins on your Merchant Center account, they can't take over or complete the verification flow that you initiated.
2. Match names and details.
Ensure that all uploaded documents such as your business licence or government ID exactly match the legal names and addresses that you input on your screen. Discrepancies can trigger an automatic system rejection.
Next steps
Once you've successfully completed the assigned verification, account restrictions will be lifted automatically. Your account will return to good standing and your products will be eligible for full visibility across Google.
In some cases, a manual review of the verification data may be needed. This process usually takes a few working days.
