Note: This article applies only to local inventory ads.
Google allows you to showcase a pickup option for your local stores for items immediately available or that require shipping to the store. The ads surfaced on Google depend on the data provided in your data source:
- In the Shipping and returns section of the Merchant Center, you can set the pickup SLA information for products based on specific attributes such as custom labels or brands. Learn more about How to set up a policy for local pickup.
- Your product data: Contains general product information and can include
pickup_SLAvalues. - Your inventory data: Contains store-specific details, such as
availability. If apickup_SLAis submitted, these can override thepickup_SLAfrom the product data. - The override rule: Your local inventory data for a specific product at a specific store always takes precedence over data submitted in your product data. Pickup SLA submitted in your product data takes precedence over pickup SLA submitted via pickup policy UI.
Note: An exception is the price
[price] attribute for “product pages with in-store availability” offers. In this specific case, the offer price from the main product data source is always used.On this page

You can also advertise products that can be shipped to your local stores for customer pickup within a specific timeframe (pickup_SLA), even if not currently in stock at that store.
Conditions for pickup capabilities within a specific timeframe:
- The item is considered unavailable at the local store if it is
out_of_stockin the local inventory data or if there is no inventory entry for the store in Merchant Center. - A

Automatic pickup Inventory creation:
Google automatically create pickup eligible inventory for your linked stores if:
- The product has availability set to in stock in your product data source. Your product data is the foundation for creating your products. Learn more Product data specification.
Note: A local inventory data source can be linked to a product data source. Google uses it to identify which of your store locations stock specific products. Learn more Local inventory data specification.
- A valid pickup Later SLA (
next_daytomulti-week) is provided in the product data. Note that thesame_dayvalue is not compatible with the automatic pickup inventory creation. - The store is linked from your Merchant Center.
