Enable shop widgets in the Google & YouTube app by editing the theme

Shop widgets allow merchants to highlight their shop quality to shoppers. This helps shoppers to easily identify and appreciate reputable shops. The Google & YouTube app allows you to enable various widgets by giving Google permission to read your shop theme and activate the shop widget.

How to enable shop widgets through the online shop

1. In your Shopify account, navigate to the left-hand panel and click Online shop.
2. Click Themes.
3. Click Customise.
4. Click App embeds in the left-hand panel.
5. Toggle the 'Shop widget' button.
6. From here, you are able to edit the following:
   • Widget position
   • Side margin
   • Bottom margin
   • Mobile side margin
   • Mobile bottom margin
7. Click Save.

How to enable shop widgets through the Recommendation card

1. In your Google & YouTube app, make sure that you 'Turn on the shop widget'.
2. From here, navigate to your Shopify account.
3. Click Online shop in the left-hand panel.
4. Click Themes.
5. Click the three-dot icon for the theme that you want to edit.
6. Click Edit code.
7. Under 'Layout', click theme.liquid.
8. Highlight the 'Merchant widget code' and remove.
9. Click Save in the upper right-hand corner.
10. Navigate to the Google & YouTube app and 'Refresh' the page.
11. The 'Go to app embeds' button will now be available.
12. Click Go to App embeds.
13. In the 'App embeds' page, click the Top Quality Store on Google.
14. From here, you are able to edit the following:
    • Widget position
    • Side margin
    • Bottom margin
    • Mobile side margin
    • Mobile bottom margin
15. Click Save.
