- Incorrect conversion action settings: The conversion action is not set for purchases.
- Mismatched product IDs: The product IDs passed in your conversion tag's cart data do not match the IDs in your Google Merchant Center data source.
- Missing cart data: Essential parameters such as price, currency, or quantity are not being captured or sent correctly during the conversion event.
Fix issues
To identify and resolve issues, follow the steps below:
- Test your conversion actions with Tag Assistant: Use the Google Tag Assistant to perform a test conversion on your website. This tool will show you in real-time if your tags are firing correctly and what data is being passed.
- Test your conversions with cart data: Follow the steps in Test correct implementation of conversions with cart data to ensure your conversion with cart data metrics are correct.
- Verify cart data and product IDs: In your Google Ads account, select Goals and then select Diagnostics. Note that the diagnostics card will only be visible if you’re sharing conversions with cart data in your transactions. The diagnostics tool will flag issues when product IDs in your conversion tag don't match the IDs in your linked Google Merchant Center account. It's important that these IDs are identical.
