Best practices for CO2 Efficiency labeling in Vehicles in Germany (BMWK)

Use the certification [certification] attribute when describing your vehicles’ CO2 and Efficiency class in Germany. For Merchants in Germany, this is required. For hybrid-electric vehicles, two CO2 Efficiency classes (the combined rating and the efficiency of the vehicle with a discharged battery) are required to be provided in separate certifications.

Sub-attributes

This certification uses the following attributes in the following way:

  • Authority [certification_authority] (Required): “BMWK” for the German CO2 emissions classes for vehicles.
  • Name [certification_name] (Required): “Vehicle_CO2_Class” for the overall CO2 class of a vehicle OR “Vehicle_CO2_Class_Discharged_Battery” for the CO2 class of a vehicle with a discharged battery.
  • Value [certification_value] (Required): The value of the certification. Specifically, the value of the appropriate CO2 Emission Class.
