Certain product groups advertised on Shopping ads and free listings in the EU, EFTA, or UK must be displayed with graphical energy efficiency labels. This includes both rescaled (energy efficiency scale A-G) products as well as products for which the energy efficiency class has not yet been rescaled (guidance from the EU).
Note: Starting April 2025, the energy efficiency class
[energy_efficiency_class] attributes are only available for products that target Switzerland, Norway, or the United Kingdom. For products targeting countries in the European Union and that are required to show graphical energy efficiency class labels, use the certification [certification] attribute, which references the necessary graphical energy efficiency source data through the EU EPREL database.Use the certification [certification] attribute and its certification code [certification_code] sub-attribute for energy labels for product groups that must be displayed with energy efficiency labels. Google will use the EPREL code to look up the appropriate energy efficiency label and show it on Shopping ads and free listings. For example:
If you don't provide certification information for your products, Google may automatically add it based on GTIN and MPN data. This helps ensure that your products' certification information is shown accurately on Google. You can correct or update the information by submitting new certification attributes and sub-attributes for your products.
