Implementation guide

Step 4: Set up Customer Match lists for members

You are also able to use Customer Match in Google ads to highlight member-only shipping and pricing benefits on Shopping ads, and Free listings (US, in beta) to your existing customers.

Customer Match usage is subject to policy compliance. Learn more about Customer Match policy.

Note:
  • For member shipping, customer match is always required in order to be displayed on Ads.
  • For member pricing, with customer match, the members in your member list will see a highlighted member price on Ads, and Free listings (US, in beta). If this step is not completed, eligible member prices will still be displayed to all users alongside regular pricing.

Step 1: Prepare + upload customers lists in Audience Manager

Step 1 Prepare separate customer match lists based on your loyalty tiers (for example: Free to Join, Credit Card, and so on).

Step 2 Define and upload customer lists into Audience Manager in Google Ads.

Step 2: Label customer type in Audience Manager

Step 1 Select audience list > “Customer type” in the dropdown > Loyalty program members > select Tiers numbers as set up in Merchant Center.

When assigned, member shipping or pricing benefits will automatically serve on Shopping ads for the users in the corresponding user list. Note that if you don't view the “loyalty program members” in the Customer Type dropdown, contact your Google account manager or support team to request allowlisting.
